San Jose Clinic Sealant Day 10-20-2012

Saturday October 20^th 2011, Greater Houston Dental Hygienist’s Society joined with San Jose Clinic and students from HCC and UT to put on their bi-annual “Sealant Day”. 34 volunteers and the staff of San Jose Clinic together were able to place 316 sealants on 90 kids in 2 ½ hours.  In-Kind value of services amounted to $16,000. Patterson donated supplies and sealant material was donated by ‘Sealants Across America’. Goodie bags given to the kids contained a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and sugar free gum provided by Crest & Oral-B, Butler and Wrigely.  A variety of pamphlets were given out at an informational booth that was set up in the waiting room.  This allowed the parents to get information on sealants while they waited.  Pamphlets were obtained for free from the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research.
